These terms apply to your use of Mate ("the app"). By using the app you agree to them.

Who can use the app

You must be at least 18 years old to use Mate.

What the app is

Mate lets you chat with AI-generated characters. Companions are not real people. Their replies are generated automatically, can be wrong, and are not professional advice. Mate is not a therapy, medical or emergency service. If you are in crisis, contact a local helpline or emergency services.

Acceptable use

• Don't use the app for anything illegal or to harm others.
• Don't try to make companions produce sexual, hateful or violent content.
• Don't abuse, overload or reverse engineer the service.

We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

Credits and Pro subscription

Free accounts get a daily allowance of messages and voice replies that resets every day and doesn't roll over. Pro is a monthly subscription sold through our reseller Lemon Squeezy, which is the merchant of record and handles payment, tax and invoices. Pro credits reset each billing period and don't roll over. You can cancel anytime from Manage billing; Pro stays active until the end of the paid period. Refunds follow Lemon Squeezy's and our refund policy.

Changes and availability

We may change features, limits or prices, and will give notice of changes to paid plans. The app is provided "as is" without warranties, and to the extent allowed by law we aren't liable for indirect damages.
